AGM & Presentation of GymMark Award

The AGM was well attended.  The evening began with Hayley Buckman, Club Development Officer from British Gymnastics, explaining the hard work involved in gaining a GymMark Award. Then she presented the plaque to Martha Trott & Jo.  The children came with their pyjamas, sleeping bags and cuddly toys. Clare made sure they all had enough popcorn while watching a DVD. The adults saw to the business of the evening hearing reports from the club's Officers and overseeing the election of Officers for the next year. Martha Trott decided to stand down as Chair. Mel Overton was elected Chair and immediately acknowledged the work of Martha Trott who had seen the club committee through its first year. Jo thanked Martha and presented her with flowers. All other members were re-elected. Gil Hawes will continue as secretary, Stephanie O'Sullivan will continue as Treasurer with Beth Maddock as Welfare Officer. Clare Garner is the Health and Safety Officer. Gil & Jo will continue to share the role of Volunteer Co-ordinator.  Mel explained that Committee Meetings are held about twice a term and all members are invited to attend, although only officers have voting rights. After the business the adults enjoyed a finger buffet and got to know each other.
